(Philadelphia, PA) — The Cubs clubbed six home runs as a team and went on to clobber the Phillies 17-2 in Philadelphia. Tommy La Stella and Anthony Rizzo each homered twice to pace the long-ball barrage. Rizzo says the grind of the MLB season can take its’ toll and it comes down to a simplified approach at the plate.
Kris Bryant and Ben Zobrist also went deep as Chicago snapped a two-game slide. Kyle Hendricks tossed seven frames of two-run ball to pick up the win. The Cubs improved to 69-and-59. Phillies rookie Rhys Hoskins became the fastest player to 10 homers in MLB history with his first-inning bomb. Ben Lively surrednered six runs over five innings to take the loss for Philly.
