A new law sponsored by State Representative John Cavaletto would help to protect first responders. The legislation was signed this week by Governor Bruce Rauner. State Representative Cavaletto presenting the legislation to the Illinois House.
As Cavaletto states, the legislation allows for the testing of all infectious diseases when a first responder or law enforcement personnel is accidentally exposed to a suspect’s bodily fluids thru being spit upon or stuck by a suspected drug needle.
