(Philadelphia, PA) — Phillies outfielder Rhys Hoskins became the fastest player ever to nine home runs as they knocked off the Cubs, 7-1, in Philadelphia. Hoskins went deep for his ninth homer in just 54 at-bats, setting an MLB record. Cesar Hernandez clubbed a bases-clearing triple, and Maikel Franco added a solo shot. Jerad Eickhoff picked up the win with five innings of one-run ball. Kyle Schwarber homered in the first for Chicago. Cubs manager Joe Maddon says they struck out too many times.
Jose Quintana allowed nine hits and six runs over five innings to take the loss. The Cubs fell to 68-and-59.
