A Vandalia Optometrist says all the warnings you’ve heard are true—looking at the eclipse without the proper glasses can do damage to your eyes. Dr. Kevin Childers from Eye Care of Vandalia says looking at the eclipse without the proper glasses can cause permanent damage.
Some folks have asked if other glasses—such as extremely dark sunglasses or glasses used for tanning—would work. But, Dr. Childers says they won’t.
As Dr. Childers said, if your glasses have the code ISO 12312-2 then you are good to go for Monday’s eclipse.
