State Senator Kyle McCarter continued to speak out against Senate Bill One before the vote to override the Governor’s amendatory veto on Sunday. McCarter continues to talk about the difference in per pupil spending in his school districts in his area, compared to those in Chicago. On Sunday he used Germantown School District in Clinton County, that receives just $6746 per student, compared to $15,378 for Chicago.
After the override vote by the Senate, the measure now moves onto the Illinois House. As of this time, the House probably doesn’t have the votes to override the Governor’s AV.
