Phyllis A. May, 71, of Vandalia, Illinois, formerly of Fillmore, IL, passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2017, at Vandalia, IL.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 5, 2017, at Miller Funeral Home, Fillmore, IL, with Pastor Harry Kirk, officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Cemetery, Rural Bingham, IL. She was born July 13, 1946, in Litchfield, IL, the daughter of Clarence Monroe & Louise Elizabeth (Mehlberg) DeWitt. She was raised by her foster parents, Guy & Edna Moore. Married Larry May on May 25, 1991, in Fillmore, IL. Phyllis was a Homemaker, former employee at Brockway Plastics and assisted her husband in truck driving; Member of Bethel Baptist Church, Rural Vandalia, IL; and affiliated with Liberty Church, Rural Bingham, IL.
She is survived by: Husband – Larry May, Vandalia, IL; Son – Chad Harrison & Corrie, Union, KY; Daughters – Kimberly “Kim” Perkins & Bryan, Vandalia, IL and Karen Downs & Doug, Moweaqua, IL; Step-Children – Jim May, Fillmore, IL and Dale May, Ramsey, IL, Cheryl Schweizer & Bill, Fillmore, IL and Tracey Hefty & Scott, Odessa, TX; 21 Grandchildren; 3 Great Grandchildren; and several Brothers & Sisters.
