(St. Louis, MO) — Matt Carpenter’s two-run double in the fourth snapped a 4-all tie and the Cardinals went on to beat the Rockies 10-5 at Busch Stadium. Paul DeJong hit a two-run homer as St. Louis swept the three-game series. Rookie Harrison Bader had three hits in his second big league game. Carlos Martinez improved to 7-and-8 with the win. Cardinals outfielder Tommy Pham says it’s a big series sweep for a number of reasons.

(St. Louis, MO) — The Cardinals now welcome the Diamondbacks to Busch Stadium to begin a four-game series tonight. Luke Weaver will start for St. Louis, while Arizona sends Zack Godley to the mound. The Cardinals are third in the NL Central at 50-and-51, three games behind the Brewers in the NL Central and three-and-a-half behind the now first place Cubs.

(Chicago, IL) — Jake Arrieta allowed just two hits over six-and-two-thirds innings as the Cubs cruised to an 8-3 win over the White Sox at Guaranteed Rate Field. Anthony Rizzo went 3-for-4 with a three-run double and four RBI. The Cubs are 10-and-2 since the break and moved a half-game ahead of the Brewers atop the NL Central. They play the White Sox again tonight.
