(Chicago, IL) — The Cardinals scored nine times in the top of the eighth before making an out to cool off the Cubs with an 11-4 win at Wrigley Field. Paul DeJong’s two-run double snapped a 3-all tie to put St. Louis in front. Carson Kelly added a two-run double and Tommy Pham had a two-run single as the Cardinals snapped Chicago’s six-game winning streak. Matt Bowman got the final out in the bottom of the seventh to get credit for the win. Carl Edwards Jr. gave up three runs without retiring a batter to take the loss. Willson Contreras hit a two-run homer in the first inning for the Cubs.
