St. Louis Blues defenseman Colton Parayko agreed to a five-year,
$27.5 million contract, multiple outlets reported on Thursday.
The deal holds an annual cap hit of $5.5 million, which is above
the $4.85 million that Parayko reportedly had been seeking in his
arbitration.
Parayko, who was a restricted free agent, was scheduled to have a
salary arbitration hearing with the Blues on Thursday.
The 24-year-old Alberta native collected a career-high 35 points
(four goals, 31 assists) in 81 games last season. He also scored
two goals and set up three others in 11 playoff contests.
Parayko made the NHL All-Rookie Team in 2015-16, when he recorded
33 points (nine goals, 24 assists) and a plus-28 rating in 79 games.
The 6-foot-6 Parayko has notched 68 points (13 goals, 55 assists)
and a plus-35 rating in 160 career contests since being selected by
St. Louis in the third round of the 2012 draft.
