(Flushing, NY) — Paul DeJong and Tommy Pham each homered in a six-run sixth inning as the Cardinals doubled up the Mets 6-3 at Citi Field. Adam Wainwright pitched five and two thirds innings of three-run ball to move to 11-and-5 with the win. Wainwright also had an RBI double to help his own cause at the plate. Brett Cecil closed it out to record his first save.

(Cumberland, GA) — Jon Lester hurled seven innings of three-hit, one-run ball and the Cubs held on to beat the Braves 4-3 in Atlanta. Wade Davis allowed two runs in the bottom of the ninth, but left the bases loaded to post his 18th save. Anthony Rizzo homered for Chicago, which is second in the NL Central at 47-and-45, three-and-a-half out of first. They play the Braves again tonight.
