Rain has been hit or miss across Illinois, leaving some areas pretty dry. Some communities are seeing precipitation, while others aren’t so lucky says State Climatologist Jim Angel.
Angel says as a result, crops and vegetation are having to rely on soil moisture to get a drink, so the top eight inches is rapidly being depleted in some areas.
