(Springfield, IL) — All eyes are now on the Illinois House. There weren’t enough lawmakers at the statehouse in Springfield yesterday to override Governor Rauner’s vetoes of both the 32-percent income-tax increase and the 36-billion-dollar budget it’d fuel. Statehouse insiders are wondering if the 15 Republicans who helped pass the tax increase over the weekend will stick to their votes and override the governor. The House got 72 votes to pass the measure over the weekend, only one vote to spare. The House is due back in session at 10 a.m.
