(Springfield, IL) — Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner is using his official veto message to call out Speaker Mike Madigan and demand spending reforms. The governor yesterday vetoed the 32-percent income-tax increase and the Democrat’s 36-billion-dollar state budget. The governor said he cannot support a plan that raises taxes on people in Illinois without first getting spending reforms that will force government in the state to live within its means. The Illinois Senate stayed at the capitol yesterday to override the governor’s vetoes.
