(St. Louis, MO) — Lance Lynn surrendered a go-ahead, three-run homer to Christian Yelich in the sixth inning and the Cardinals went on to lose 5-2 to the Marlins at Busch Stadium. Greg Garcia had staked St. Louis to a 2-0 lead with a two-run shot in the fifth. Lynn allowed four runs, but just two earned, in five-and-a-third to fall to 6-and-6.

(Chicago, IL) — The Cubs fell behind 6-1 in the fourth inning and couldn’t quite recover in a 6-5 loss to the Rays at Wrigley Field. Jon Lester allowed all six runs in five innings to fall to 6-and-6. Ben Zobrist drove in two for the Cubs, who have lost five-of-seven. Chicago is second in the NL Central at 41-and-42, three-and-a-half back.
