Adam Wainwright gave up a six-spot in the fifth, but still got credit for his ninth win. Yadier Molina went 3-for-3 with three RBI, Tommy Pham had three hits and drove in two, and Luke Voit hit his first career homer and knocked in four. St. Louis has won five of its last six.

(St. Louis, MO) — The Cardinals made a roster move before last night’s game against the Marlins. They called up prized prospect Luke Weaver and optioned right-hander Mike Mayers to Triple-A Memphis. Mayers just pitched three innings in Sunday’s loss to the Nationals and had a 4.50 ERA in two appearances spanning four innings. Manager Mike Matheny says Weaver won’t be just a long reliever.
