(Springfield, IL) — The woman who pays Illinois‘ bills says the vote to raise income taxes by 32-percent sent a strong message to Wall Street. Comptroller Susana Mendoza yesterday said the vote will hopefully be enough to make investors believe that “Illinois is serious about getting its fiscal house in order.” Mendoza says she hopes the Illinois Senate follows the House’s lead.
