(Springfield, IL) — Republicans at the Illinois Capitol say they need to see a list of Democratic spending cuts before they’re ready to vote on a new state budget. House Republican leader Jim Durkin yesterday said he’s not ready to vote on the Democratic budget plan that would raise taxes by five billion-dollars and spend over 36-and-a-half billion. Durkin says he needs to see how the money will be spent before pledging Republican votes.
