You will find trees down on every street, and in every corner, of the City of Vandalia this morning. The best streets just have some leaves and small limbs on them. But, unfortunately there are many homes with damage from trees falling on their homes—with several instances of that visible around town. Another casualty of the storm was the scoreboard at Mark Greer Field (pictured).
Both Ameren and Southwestern Electric are looking to restore power around the county, which at one time added up to better than 4,300 households without power. Crews are out, but there is no estimated times available yet on those still without power.
