(Chicago, IL) — The folks who take care of Illinois‘ sick and poor are going to have to wait a little longer to get paid by the state. The appellate court yesterday refused to order the state to pay social service providers. A group of nurses, home care providers, and other service organizations sued over the billions of the dollars they’re owed. Illinois owes a myriad of service providers, plus schools and local governments almost 14 billion-dollars.
