Pre-trial for a Vandalia woman charged with injuring her infant child was reset again following an appearance in Fayette County Court on Tuesday. 24-year old Aubree Hammer appeared in court for a pre-trial hearing Tuesday morning with defense attorney Patrick Schaufelberger. With several pieces of discovery in the case needing to be gone through by the defense, the pre-trial has been reset for August 8 at 10am. Hammer is alleged to have injured her, at that time, 3 ½ month old baby in February of 2016 and is charged with one count of aggravated battery to a child under the age of 13 with great bodily harm or permanent disability. The offense is a Class X Felony and it is punishable by 6-30 years in prison. Bond for Hammer is set at $1 million and she does currently remain in custody in the Fayette County Jail.
