Experts are predicting a heavy tick population for this summer, and the State Department of Public Health reminds that tick bites carry the threat of disease, and there are some symptoms to watch for if you are bitten. Ticks can transmit Lyme Disease, Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever and more. Illinois Department of Public Health Spokesperson Melaney Arnold says you should look for these signs.
Arnold says you should let the doctor know where you were when you were bitten so they can better determine what kind of tick was involved and which disease the tick may have been carrying.
