(Springfield, IL) — West Nile virus has come to Illinois. The Illinois Department of Public Health is warning people in the state to be on high alert since it’s mosquito season. Health officials are urging people to use plenty of bug spray when outdoors. Officials in Macon County confirmed mosquitoes in their area carry West Nile virus.
