(Springfield, IL) — This year’s tick season could be one of the worst central Illinois has ever seen. The Department of Public Health says people should stay away from high grassy areas or wooded areas to avoid contact with ticks. People who do get bitten by ticks can use tweezers to get them out. The Department also warns that people sometimes contract Lyme disease when a tick bites them.
