(Springfield, IL) — Illinois lawmakers aren’t giving up on trying to change how the state pays for schools. A House panel yesterday approved a new plan, which is different than the Senate plan to make ‘need’ the driver of state dollars. The House plan would allow low income districts with high property taxes more freedom in spending state money. But the plan comes with just one day left on the calendar in Springfield.
