The City of Vandalia received a Smart Growth Grant on Tuesday in the amount of $15,000 from the Greater Gateway Association of Realtors that will be used by the city to write a comprehensive plan to use as a guide to further grow the city. The association’s President and Vandalia area realtor Sandy Michel-Stempenski along with Kyle Anderson were on hand for the check presentation. And Vandalia Mayor Rick Gottman says he is very pleased that the city was able to receive one of just a few grants awarded this year.
The grant will cover anywhere from a third to a half of the possible cost of the comprehensive plan. And we will hear more from Gottman about the plan tomorrow during Newscenter.
