(Springfield, IL) — The latest plan to change how Illinois pays for schools still gives Chicago schools about 200-million dollars in special deals. Bloomington-Normal Republican Jason Barickman says that’s why the plan to pay for schools is little more than a bailout for Chicago. The Senate passed the plan yesterday. Supporters say the proposal will make “need” the driver of state aid, and it will help low income districts across the state.
