A motion hearing for a Vandalia man charged with unauthorized videotaping that was set for today has been continued. A defense motion to continue was entered into record on Monday in the case, further delaying a motion hearing that was scheduled for 46-year old Charles Sharp after he turned down a plea deal in March. Sharp is charged with three counts of unauthorized videotaping, each of which is a Class 4 Felony, as he is alleged to have without consent “made a video record” of two different victims “in a restroom” between May 1, 2013 and February 26, 2016. Each of the counts is punishable by 1-3 years in prison. Sharp will now make his next appearance in Fayette County Court on June 21 at 10am.
