The area will continue to recover today after estimates of better than 6 inches of rain fell over the weekend throughout Fayette County. Listeners reported rainfall totals of between 4 and 8 inches from over the weekend, with the overall consensus looking like 6 inches of rain for most areas of the county. Couple that huge amount of rain with the severe storms that ripped thru the county on Saturday evening—leaving damage and power outages in the St. Peter and Farina areas and you have a very long weekend for the area. Flooded roads were another major problem, as dozens of roads throughout the county took on water over the weekend and were just beginning to recede some with a break in the action yesterday afternoon and night.
