Producers have made some nice headway planting corn over the past week. There was an average of nearly five days available for fieldwork last week, and rainfall below normal for a good amount of the state. Crop Statistician Mark Schleusener says that left time for spring, tillage and planting.
4 percent of soybeans and one percent of sorghum have been planted. 28 percent of the winter wheat crop has headed. Average statewide topsoil moisture declined to six percent short, 86 percent adequate and 8 percent surplus.
