A Vandalia woman was injured in a one vehicle accident on Illinois Route 140 on Friday evening. Illinois State Police reports say the accident occurred at 6:23 pm Friday evening on Illinois Route 140, about 1/4 mile east of Hagarstown. Preliminary reports indicate that a vehicle driven by 55 year old Cora E. Jackson of Vandalia lost control of her vehicle and crossed into the eastbound lane of traffic. The vehicle then struck the concrete bridge barrier with the passenger side of the car. State Police say that Jackson was entrapped in her vehicle and was extricated by the Vandalia Fire Department. Jackson was initially taken to Fayette County Hospital by ambulance and then was flown by Air Evac to a Springfield Hospital.
