(Galesburg, IL) — Illinois‘ last animal-only disease lab is closing. The Illinois Department of Agriculture lab stopped taking samples last week and they’ll close their doors in a few weeks. The state says it’s closing the lab as a belt tightening move. Illinois will now send all animal disease questions to the University of Illinois‘ lab.
