(Chicago, IL) — The state’s ongoing budget impasse is once again putting Governor Rauner and first lady Diana Rauner on the opposite sides of a court fight. Diana Rauner’s early childhood education nonprofit is part of a coalition of social service agencies suing the governor and other state officials to force the state to begin paying long overdue bills. The 37 agencies that make up Pay Now Illinois, including Diana Rauner’s Ounce of Prevention Fund, argue that the state’s failure to pay them fully has forced them to cut staff, go into debt and reduce services.
