There is one less request of a liquor license for gaming and one restaurant that will be staying in town, according to Vandalia Mayor Rick Gottman. Mayor Gottman announced at Monday night’s Vandalia City Council meeting that Randy Meyer of Meyer Oil Company has withdrawn all liquor license requests at this time and that Burger King has renewed their lease and will be staying at their location in Meyer’s build on Veteran’s Avenue. Last year at one time it was stated that Burger King was not going to renew their lease and Meyer was requesting a liquor license for a potential gaming facility at that location to fill the spot that would have been left vacant by Burger King. But, now that will not be the case as Burger King is remaining in Vandalia.
