(Springfield, IL) — Governor Rauner couldn’t get Leslie Munger elected as state comptroller, but he is giving her another job — as deputy governor. Rauner is hiring the former Helene Curtis executive and interim Comptroller to be one of his two deputy governors. Rauner says Munger will work on long-term budgeting and on funding for human service organizations. She’ll earn 135-thousand-dollars, the same salary she made as Comptroller. Munger lost the Comptroller’s race to Democrat Susana Mendoza.
