Governor Bruce Rauner is setting an optimistic tone with his State of the State Address, while noting the state faces significant challenges. Governor Rauner cited several accomplishments over the past two year, including criminal justice reform, technology improvements within state government and an increase in education funding. He also discussed the violence in Chicago, and the need to improve the state’s economy.
The Governor called on Democrats and Republican to work together to end the budget stalemate and pass his proposed reforms.
