State's new lead testing law falls as unfunded mandate for schools

Schools will now have to do lead testing at some of their buildings under a new state law that was signed into effect last week. Vandalia Superintendent of Schools Rich Well says this is another unfunded mandate handed down by the state.

The bill specifies for buildings with younger students and for building built before 2000—which means that would apply to the Vandalia Elementary School building.
