(Chicago, IL) — Government leaders here in Illinois are assuring people that the bombings in New York and New Jersey don’t pose any danger here. As the story unfolded, Governor Rauner quickly assured people that there’s no credible threat in Illinois, but he urged people to be vigilant and report anything suspicious immediately. Chicago Mayor Emanuel said the same thing, but said nonetheless, the incidents in New York and New Jersey show the wisdom of being prepared and of having emergency officials act out a variety of scenarios in tabletop exercises. He said that’s one of things done by the Office of Emergency Management and Communication.
