(Chicago, IL) — Governor Rauner’s money is fueling local political races on both sides of the Illinois-Indiana border, even though he insists he’s not getting involved in individual local races. In addition to the millions of dollars he’s given to the Illinois GOP for legislative races here, Rauner is also backing the Republican running for governor in Indiana. The “Times of Northwest Indiana” reports that Rauner has given a hundred-thousand-dollars to Lieutenant Governor Eric Holcomb for his campaign to succeed Mike Pence, who’s now Donald Trump’s running mate. Holcomb’s in a tight race with Democrat John Gregg.
