Corn harvest is underway in some areas of the state as we hear in the weekly crop report. Harvesting was limited to southern parts of the state says Crop Statistician Mark Schleusener.
19 percent of soybeans are turning color and two percent are dropping leaves. The condition of the crop is down slightly with 79 percent of acres rated in good to excellent condition and more reports of sudden death in soybeans. Average statewide topsoil moisture now stands at one percent very short, 4 percent short, 80 percent adequate and 15 percent surplus.
