A 34 year old Salem woman is facing multiple charges after being arrested twice in a very short period of time on Tuesday. 34 year old Michelle L. Forbes was first arrested on a failure to appear warrant and was released from the Fayette County Jail. Within a very short time after that, Forbes was arrested by Vandalia Police in the 300 block of South 6th Street on multiple charges. On Wednesday in Fayette County Court, Forbes was officially charged with Criminal Trespass to Residence-which is a Class 4 Felony, along with Aggravated Assault of a Police Office and two counts of Resisting a Peace Officer—both of those charges are Class A Misdemeanors. In her court appearance on Wednesday, probable cause was found and Forbes’ bond was set at $20,000. Forbes also requested a public defender and a preliminary hearing was set in her case for August 19th at 11 am.
