(Chicago, IL) — Tyler Saladino’s RBI single in the bottom of the ninth gave the White Sox a 5-4 win over the Cubs. Todd Frazier hit a three-run homer for the Sox in the opener of the four-game, home-and-home set. Javier Baez launched a two-run shot for the Cubs. Jake Arrieta allowed four runs in six innings and Mike Montgomery took the loss. The teams play again tonight at The Cell before two more games tomorrow and Thursday at Wrigley Field.

(Chicago, IL) — The Cubs are beefing up their bullpen for the stretch run. Chicago has agreed to acquire flame-throwing lefty Aroldis Chapman from the Yankees for four players, including top shortstop prospect Gleyber Torres. Chapman is 3-and-0 with a 2.01 ERA and 20 saves in 31 games.
