(St. Louis, MO) — The Cardinals rallied in the final innings to overtake the Padres, 6-5, and complete a four-game sweep at Busch Stadium. Aledmys Diaz connected for a walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the ninth to follow St. Louis‘ four-run eighth inning. Diaz finished with two hits and two RBI. Stephen Piscotty’s three-run homer highlighted the eighth, while reliever Jonathan Broxton came away with the victory.
