(St. Louis, MO) — Christian Yelich plated half of Miami’s runs as the Marlins clipped the Cardinals 6-3 at Busch Stadium. Michael Wacha got chased after four-plus innings, and Jonathan Broxton took the loss for the Cards. Matt Holiday had three of the team’s four hits, including his 16th homer. St. Louis lost two-of-three to Miami.

(Chicago, IL) — Cole Hamels tossed a gem as the Rangers dropped the Cubs, 4-1, to prevent the sweep at Wrigley Field. John Lackey lasted eight innings but fell to 8-and-6 on the year for the Cubs. Javier Baez doubled in their only run. Chicago opens a three-game series at home with the Mets tonight.
