At Monday night’s Vandalia City Council meeting, Mayor Rick Gottman took time during his report to address concerns brought to him by residents of the city. Gottman told the council that he had received a lot of calls about speeding issues on Sunset and Fillmore Streets. Gottman said went and monitored the area himself a little bit and he too witnessed cars going well over the speed limit on those streets.
And Mayor Gottman also informed the board that there had been complaints about cars parking the wrong way on streets against the flow of traffic and he said that is against city ordinance and explained the steps the city police will take when a car is violating the ordinance.
In other business at the meeting, the council approved the low bid from Stombaugh Heating and Air for the installation of two new heaters at the city garage and also approved the low bid for chemicals for the water treatment plant.
