The Vandalia 7th Grade boys are off to a good start at the 7-3A State Tournament as they lead Pleasant Plains 14-6 at the end of the 1st quarter.
Pleasant Plains comes back to tie the game and Vandals Mitchell Casey misses shot attempt right before buzzer, game tied at 21-21 at halftime. Vandals led in scoring by Markus Isaiah with 11 points.
The Vandals were outscored 9-7 in the 3rd quarter and trail Pleasant Plains 30-28 heading into the 4th quarter.
Vandals go on a scoring spree in the 4th quarter and pull out a 46-37 win. The Vandals were led in scoring by Markus Isaiah with 25 points and Drew Thompson 12 points.
The Vandals are now 20-3 on the season and will play Mossville (25-0) in the first semifinal game tonight (Saturday, Feb. 6) at 5:00pm.
With the quarterfinal win, the Vandals are also guaranteed a top 4 finish and will bring home some hardware.
