(Springfield, IL) — Governor Rauner is accusing the federal government of refusing his requests for information related to the Syrian refugee program. The Governor’s office says he spoke with the White House Chief of Staff and the Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security. He wanted to address his specific security concerns with refugees coming to Illinois. Officials expressed interest in helping out but said privacy issues may prevent sharing all information.
