(Chicago, IL) — Illinois schools and school districts are getting a new kind of report card this year under a new state law. The new rating system puts the schools and districts on a 100-point scale and measures them on their test scores and graduation rates as well as on intangibles like family involvement, school atmosphere and cooperative decision-making. The new ranking protocol was developed by a statewide group of education organizations and several local superintendents.
