Brownstown-St. Elmo pulled off the upset in the quarterfinals of the NTC Tournament on Monday in Effingham, as they defeated #2 seed Windsor Stew-Stras. BSE got 7 strong innings from Noah Flowers who picked up the win. Lewis Brown was 2 for 3 with an RBI, Landon Feezel was 2 for 4 with 2 RBI, Noah Flowers had two hits and 3 RBI and Cole Horner added 2 hits. BSE improves to 9-10 on the fall baseball season and will play tomorrow at 7 pm in the semi-finals of the NTC Tournament, where they will take on Effingham St. Anthony at Evergreen Park. St. Anthony upset #3 Dieterich in the quarterfinals on Monday.
South Central wins a marathon game in the quarterfinals of the NTC Tournament, as they defeated North Clay, 6 to 3, in 12 innings. Dre Hill had the go ahead RBI single in the 12th for South Central, who improves to 9-6 on the fall season. Gavin Raterman went the first 8 innings on the mound and struck out 15. Trent Geiler went 4 shutout innings in relief to pick up the win. South Central will now take on Altamont in the semi-finals on Wednesday at 7 pm at Paul Smith Field in Effingham.
