(San Diego, CA) — Ian Kennedy struck out 10 and pitched into the seventh inning as the Padres shut out the Cardinals, 8-0, at Petco Park. Kennedy picked up his eighth win as San Diego extended its winning streak to five games. Matt Kemp and Justin Upton both drove in a pair of runs as part of a seven-run seventh inning. Travis Jankowski tallied two RBI as well in the victory. Carlos Martinez slipped to 12-and-6 for St. Louis, giving up three runs on seven hits over six-and-a-third. The Cards have dropped four of their last six games.
