(Springfield, IL) — Governor Bruce Rauner is sending an amended version of a marijuana decriminalization law back to lawmakers. Rauner used his veto authority on Friday to have the law set a fine of 100 to 200 dollars for possessing up to ten grams of pot. The original bill set the limit at 15 grams, and the fine at between 55 and 125 bucks. Governor Rauner has also added an amendatory veto to an extension bill for the medical marijuana program, changing the length of the two-year extension lawmakers wanted to four months.
